Left Stop/Turn Lamp – Circuit Short to Ground or Open
B132B (14) — Left Stop/Turn Lamp – Circuit Short to Ground or Open
System: Body | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Ford
B132B is a manufacturer-specific body diagnostic trouble code recorded for Ford vehicles. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
When B132B is stored, the module has detected an open (broken or disconnected) electrical path in the monitored circuit; and a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit.
Scanning & clearing: Body (B) codes are often stored in the body control module, airbag module, or climate module. A basic OBD-II tool usually will not read body codes — an enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is typically required.
B132B is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The Body Control Module (BCM) on this Ford drives the left hand rear stop and turn lamp output through an internal switching stage and continuously measures the current and voltage on that circuit. With the lamp commanded on the BCM expects to see a voltage close to battery voltage at the output pin and a current draw within the correct range for the rated bulb or LED assembly. DTC B132B:14 is stored when the BCM sees a circuit voltage lower than expected, indicating a short to ground, or no current flow at all with the output commanded on, indicating an open circuit. When this code is active ...
